CCY’s purpose is to build assets (positive building blocks) in our young people and in turn reduce the presence of risk taking behaviors in their lives. One of our primary activities in this effort is our “Dangerous Times Initiative”. Through the distribution of quarterly flyers CCY and our partners remind all adults in our community that they play a vital role in how our youth use their free time. After school, on weekends, and in the summer is when many of our young people engage in activities that endanger their well being and their future. Our partners are local businesses and organizations that have found their own unique way to pass along our “Dangerous Times” flyers to their customers and/or employees. Remember, when we are unable to directly participate in our young peoples free time, we must ask questions so as to determine the nature (who, what, where, why, and when) of their plans, verify answers whenever our instincts tell us we should, and as a result…shape futures.
